An IIFT and OXV initiative
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and Oceans
XV (OXV) have come together to provide training programmes related to
shipping and catering to the Indian Sub Continent, South East Asia and
Africa. The jointly developed 6-day ‘Advanced Training Programme in
Commercial Shipping’ is designed to benefit ship managers, ship agents,
officers in public sector units and private companies involved with
shipping operations like export and import houses, ship charterers, ship
brokers, senior seafarers, financial institutions including public and
private sector banks, oil companies, commodity traders, international
consultancy firms, venture capitalists, freight forwarders, clearing
agents, and personnel from various Ministries including Commerce,
Shipping and Defence.

Course objective
The objective is to provide comprehensive knowledge of
commercial shipping to the participants. This will enable the candidates
to handle commercial shipping operations in diverse organisations in an

level responsibilities globally.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade
(IIFT)
was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous
organisation to help professionalise the country's foreign trade
management and increase exports by developing human resources;
generating, analysing and disseminating data; and conducting research.

Oceans XV (OXV)
was formed by 15 senior seafarers in 2007. The Company’s vision is to
primarily enhance the safety standards being adhered to on ships. OXV
meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and its courses are certified by
KVQA Norway, Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), The Liberian Maritime
Administration, The Maritime Administrator of The Marshall Islands, The
Nautical Institute – London, and The Ministry of Shipping and
Communications, Government of India.
OXV offers specific training of sea-going officers as required by oil
majors and other international operators. The courses include- DP
Simulator Course, Bridge Team Management, ECDIS, GMDSS, Risk Assessment
and Risk Management, Quality and Safety Assessment, Marine Accident
